Aekyem is a Milan-based home decor brand founded by designer Vani, whose creative journey spans India, the UK, and Italy. Born and raised in India, Vani discovered her passion for art and design early in life. She later honed her craft at the London College of Fashion, earning a degree in Footwear Design, and expanded her perspective through global influences.

In 2016, she moved to Italy to pursue a Master’s in Accessories Design at the renowned Istituto Marangoni, where her appreciation for artisanal detail deepened. This multicultural background ultimately led to the founding of Aekyem in 2025 — a sustainable decor studio rooted in handmade design, slow craftsmanship, and eco-conscious values.

At Aekyem, Vani draws inspiration from the traditional Paper Mâché art of Kashmir, blending India’s cultural heritage with the elegance of European design. Every piece is handcrafted in her Milan studio using recycled paper, salvaged paints, and sustainable materials — turning discarded elements into one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces.
